“Jesus was often a healer,
sometimes a worker of miracles, frequently a preacher but always a
teacher.” Charles B. Eavey, History of Christian
Education, p.78.
Jesus included teaching in His
final command to His disciples when He said, “Go ye therefore, and
teach all the people…” Matthew 28:19
How important
is a Bible education to an individual?
Everyone
recognizes the importance of a good education in our nation’s
schools, trade schools and colleges. Subjects like math, science,
languages, history etc. prepare us only for life here. A Bible
education prepares us for life here AND for life in eternity. At
Sahuaro we place great importance to our Sunday School Ministry.
At Sahuaro
Baptist Church the cornerstone of our Christian Education Program is
the Sunday School Ministry.
Our Sunday
School is for ALL people, young and old. No one is excluded.
Our Sunday
School covers the entire Bible. A youngster in our program will
study the entire Bible twice in a six year period. Our curriculum
derives from materials obtained from the Regular Baptist Press in
Schaumberg, Illinois.
Whether you or
one of yours is 6 months old or 96 years old (yes, we have that
variety of attendees!) there is something for everyone in the Sunday
School Program at Sahuaro. Although Sahuaro is a small church, our
Sunday School is departmentalized and includes the following
classes:
Ø
The cradle Club for
those under two.
Ø

Ø

children 4 and 5 and 6 year olds in kindergarten.

their children with them in the chapel or allowing them to attend

Children’s Church for ages 7-11.
Our teachers
receive training through seminars from Regular Baptist Press,
through quarterly teachers’ conferences, instructional materials
from Regular Baptist Press, coaching and other opportunities as they
become available.
